Hot Springs Landing โ also called Magic Valley โ is a reservoir-side soak in the Fairfield area, on BLM land where the spring’s source itself sits on private land. Most of the year there’s nothing to soak in: the pool site lies under the reservoir’s water until late fall, when dropping levels expose a wood-framed, tarp-lined pool a few yards downstream of the source, big enough for two to four soakers.
Pool Condition
When it exists, the pool is a wood frame supporting large tarps that trap the hot water just downstream of the source. Water temperature depends entirely on the season and the pool’s condition. Expect sediment and floaters that a bucket can remedy.
Seasonal Notes
Accessible year-round in principle, but the pool is typically underwater until late fall. The dirt road from the parking lot leads down into the dry reservoir bed at low water.
Camping
Camp in the parking lot, or out in the reservoir bed itself during low-water conditions.
