West Pass Hot Springs

West Pass Hot Springs is a trio of bathtubs soaking beside West Pass Creek in the Sawtooth National Forest, near Clayton on the East Fork of the Salmon River. It’s a quirky, low-use soak โ€” clear, lime-tinted, moderately sulfurous water in plain tubs, in a white-rock canyon that sees very few visitors.

Pool Condition

The soaking is in three bathtubs. The water is clear with a lime-green tint and a moderate sulfur odor, and the temperature is adjustable. Use is low to moderate.

Seasonal Notes

The seasonal road serving the springs is open from May 1st through December 1st.

Camping

There are a few primitive sites near the springs (not very private), plus many official campgrounds and additional primitive sites accessible from the main road.
