Worswick Hot Springs spreads hot water all over a hillside in the Sawtooth National Forest, in the Fairfield/Smoky Mountains area: a variety of log- and rock-dammed pools โ including a big log-dammed pool on the hill and a culvert pool below the road โ with temperatures that vary by pool and by season. Come late in the season and take your pick.
Pool Condition
A variety of log and rock dammed pools with sand/gravel/rocky bottoms, fed by a hot creek running down from the uppermost source pool. The water is semi-clear with a slight odor. Use is moderate.
Seasonal Notes
Seasonal Forest Road closure from October through mid-May; the open date in May depends on snow level. Prime soaking season is between late July and late October.
Camping
No campsites around the spring, but plenty of campgrounds and primitive sites are available in the surrounding Sawtooth National Forest. Some folks do opt to camp in the large dirt parking lot.
