Ninemeyer Hot Springs

Ninemeyer Hot Springs is a late-season-only proposition on the far side of the Middle Fork Boise River: rocky, user-built pools with sand and rock bottoms that sit submerged or unreachable for most of the year. The access window is small โ€” fording the river is only advised at low water, usually late July through November โ€” and on multiple documented visits the pools were only ever seen steaming from the wrong side of a swollen river.

Pool Condition

Small, shallow soakers form along the river’s edge just below the source when the water drops. Clarity is hard to judge because the pools spend so much of the year underwater. Expect to build or rebuild your soak on arrival.

Seasonal Notes

Ford only in low-water, late-season conditions โ€” roughly late July to November. Most roads into the Atlanta area close in winter, and the Middle Fork Boise River Road is heavily washboarded year-round.

Camping

The springs sit right next to Ninemeyer Campground, with plenty of other National Forest campgrounds and primitive sites along the Middle Fork Boise River Road.
