Molly’s Hot Springs is a log-dam and rock-bordered pool in the Boise National Forest’s Warm Lake area, a quarter-mile from the forest road โ the best-known soak of the Molly’s cluster, close enough to the road to stay popular but far enough to feel like a real find. Its temperature is adjustable via a hose-and-valve system fed from the source.
Pool Condition
The pool is bordered by a log dam and rocks, with a sandy bottom that tends to collect silt and algae. The trail to the springs and the South Fork Salmon River are both visible from the pool. A system of hoses and valves delivers hot water from the source, letting soakers adjust the temperature โ but note that king-size soaks here can exceed comfortable temps (around 115ยฐF) if the cold intake isn’t managed.
Seasonal Notes
Accessible all year. The dirt forest access road is not plowed during winter; access then is on horseback or snowshoe.
Camping
There is plenty of Boise National Forest camping nearby. There is no camping at the springs. Tilder (Steep) Creek Campground is just north of the springs, and additional hot springs sit within a half-mile radius โ including Molly’s Tubs just up the road.
