Prince Albert Hot Springs
Prince Albert Hot Springs is a remote two-pool soak in the Mt. Bennett Hills area north of Glenns Ferry, Idaho โ and the approach is the story. The dirt road in deteriorates into a creek bed, turns to impassable muck in rain and winter, and defeated both documented attempts to reach it. Plan for the dry season and a capable 4×4.
Pool Condition
The upper pool has rock and dirt walls with a dirt and silt bottom. The second, lower pool is a long metal trough that can be drained and filled. The old listing puts the water at 101โ109ยฐF, with low use โ but note that the listing was never confirmed by a completed soak visit (see the road notes below).
Seasonal Notes
Unless you have a monster truck, don’t expect to reach the hot springs during winter or heavy rain. The road turns into muck-pots in rain and may be washed out as you get closer to the springs, where a creek runs through it. A 4×4 is recommended except during the dry, warm months.
Camping
There are a few primitive sites available near the hot springs.
